Z8 Encore! Remote Code Downloading

HELP!

I am working on a mini-project entitled SCREAMS: SMS Configurable Remote Encore! Based Aquatic Monitoring System

I was tasked to make use of the bootloader code for the Encore! Z86421 on two customized development boards. The first one holds the bootloader code, while the other one recieves the code to be loaded via GSM, saves it in its flash, then loads it to the one with the bootloader code via UART, since the slave board needs to see a special character at Power-on-reset, i need the master to reset the slave w/o pushing the reset button (the system is to deployed remotely), also i need to fetch the data from the sensors and send it via GSM

The problem with GSM is that it can only hold 160 characters. Is there a way to merge the series of messages that the GSM module recieves as multiuple messages into a single HEX code to be saved in flash? how can this be done

GSM is employed because it is cheap and has wider coverage than Zigbee, IR, or Bluetooth
