cool deal...!!
Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
So, its dead now?
I checked my account and I have plenty of issues remaining, but the magazine's last issue was 2022.
So, NV is now dead
I don't want a refund. I only wish you good luck.

Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
I just received my latest copy a week or so ago. The sticker on it is dated 6/7/23. 2022 ISSUE-3. I feel the same way as solar3000. Just hoping N&V can keep on plugging away.
Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
Well, that's encouraging. With the recent email activity I've been getting from them, let's hope things are on the upswing.

Backwoodsman Magazine has some exciting news to share with our community! Even though the current edition was completed by Charlie and his team in Mid-December, it turns out we’re printing with a different company starting with the Winter issue 2024! Without much notice, our previous printing company has merged with another company, creating the need for BWM to migrate immediately to a new printer. This big change has left our readers stranded during the holidays and we hope you will accept our sincere apologies. We will keep everyone posted as the print and delivery dates become solidified, and in the meantime we greatly appreciate your patience and support! Thank you so much for being part of the BWM community!

Dot matrix by the rate of release, should be all digital by all rights by now. I suspect there is a shortage of fresh content as well. Without staff writers that would be very inconsistent relying on independent contributors. Such a writer would probably need to be an engineer or at least engineer capable, that's a luxury resource for a publisher. Such is the trend for many media companies, even previously successful news outlets are suddenly shuttering (I'm thinking about the sudden demise of VICE.com last week, they closed so fast, they didn't even publish a goodby, the page is unchanged for a week now, they did have some good international and some lousy NSFW content)
Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
Dang. I must have posted that late at night. I was reading another thread somewhere must've thought I was there. At least it kept the thread going / made some content. On a related note, I bought the latest BWM magazine in the local store. It is a nicer print job and it promises to be more sturdy than previous versions. If only N&V could get it back together.

Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
I’ve been getting N&V for a while too, and I noticed the shift to bi-monthly. It’s frustrating when issues are late. I’m still hopeful they’re not done for good; they might just be dealing with some hiccups. I’d recommend dropping them a line to check on the March/April issue. I did that once, and they were pretty responsive.
Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
OK, so here's my take on the future of N&V
I could give you a long list of great magazines that are all in the landfill, or you just drank a take-out coffee from a cup made from one of them.
Any business cannot survive unless there are customers, and customers equal cash flow and that pays bills supplies and salaries, and maybe even a bit of profit. I don't personally know Sean, but I appreciate that without his drive and persistence, we would be drinking from cops made of scrap N&V paper! It's a tough road for any small business today. The constant flurry of regulations, taxes and untold unpaid hours with a declining customer base,
and escalating materials cost and labor, stresses even the most dedicated owner.
Most of us started in electronics many years ago, when there was less to learn and things were built to be worked on. Today, that is all gone, plus the kids of the age, that we were, when we started, could not care less as long as their dummy-box toy phones keeps them connected. Schools teach them no skill of real future value. Where did all the shops go? Parents should pass on skills to their offspring but they either don't have any, or the skills are no longer in demand. Careers like portrait photographers or shoe repairs are history. In short, this current generation, for the most part, simply does not care, so things like N&V are way off their horizon.
We built crystal radio's power supplies and learned many other valuable kills. Sadly today, many kids only excel in raising the crime statistics.
So thank you Sean. I know It's tough being the captain of a ship taking on water, but keep the periscope up and the anchor down.
Hopefully others will realize this situation and things may turn around for the benefit of us all..
