PIC-camera tracking

Post by Bernius1 »

Someone had some ideas on a topic re: surveillance
camera tracking. But my PIC experience is zero.
How's this ???
B&W camera( digital preferable).The PIC writes 10
fields to dedicated memory locations, and continuously over-writes them in a loop. The first
field also gets written to an 11th memory block.
In a surv.camera, the field shouldn't change, so
every 1/3 sec.,the PIC compares the first field
with the last-stored 'first field'. It could compare the luminance value of the pixels. Like in
MSPAINT, the 0-255 value for each color. If an object moves into view, the 'first field' will register change. So the last 10 frames are mathematically compared to establish direction and
speed. The PIC then enables two adjustment step-
motors to re-position the camera, and stops for
1/3 sec. ( to separate moving from stationary),
and the cycle repeats. Camera mounting would be
like an auto headlamp. Ball pivot in one corner,
and X & Y screw-axis adjusters. ?? DO-ABLE??
Can't we end all posts with a comical quip?
