Re: physics ?

In the case of the meteor, yes, due to the friction caused by the atomosphere which will be acting for all purposes in an opposite dirction to the gravitational pull of the earth, acting like a brake, this braking effect is what is causing the heat. If in a vacuum then unless the cube hits anything ...

Re: Servo Control Voltage

In theory I guess not. U could wire the pot in the servo upto any circuitry U desired although this would mean opening up the servo 2 fiddle with the wiring. It all depends on how sophisticated Ur servo is. Some have position control circuitry on board some dont.
B)

Surely the function of the robot will determine was is to be done with Thisobject. Maybe Thisobject could B further split into Thisdangerousobject + Thisusefulobject depending on wot it is the robot would like to do with objects!
B)

Re: Time vs amplitude, can you interchange?

Does the motor get faster and faster with time? If so u will reach a max speed at some point which implies that after a certain duration the speed will not B dependant on the time it has been running.
B)

U can buy remote control modules for just this thing, but I cant remember the name of them. If ur bot (really a remote control car!) is small enuff 3VDC should B enuff.
B)

Re: New to Robotics

Hello M
First of all the Electroic side: How do U want the robot to behave? Do U want it to go in a straihgt line? Turn corners? Go backwards? etc.,.,.,.,.,. These considerations will determine what sort of control circuitry (tink brain power) U will need to control Ur motors (tink muscles).
Sec...
