IS and WAS for robots

Post by hlreed »

A natural start for memory in a robot is with detection. With arithmetic, there are 3 conditions with two inputs. Let the inputs be I and R. 1, I is equal to R. 2, I is greater than R or 3, I is less than R.
We make a device that reads I and R, detects the condition, and if the condition is met, writes one of the inputs.
Let output be O. Then if I condition R, O = I else O = 0. The condition is =, >, <.
Now you can write O = I is R or I gt R or I lt R.
From is, it is an easy step to was. (was=, was>, was< of course)
Now O = if I condition R, M = I and O = M
Write O = I was R (or wasgt or waslt)
This is memory of condition. Next is memory of event. Again, we need to detect something and act on it. Condition was easy. How do we define event?
