Re: cable tv service
It looks like you are able to post on a forum on the internet. Therefore, you have internet service. Why not just skip the dinosaur teevee? I watch many old and new movies on youtube, etc... You can choose free or paid stuff to watch. What's on the legacy device that you want to watch that's not alr...

Re: HD Radio
A long time ago, a few years after HD radios went in cars, I was looking for HD radios of any kind at all. I found nothing. Years later, I found huge desktop HD radios, just a few. Today, many years later, I just looked on amazon and I only found three models from Sangean and pretty much nobody else...

USB C at 240 watts, how?
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Bio-Braide ... 0C4FDJ8F7/
How is that possible?
240 watts thru a USB C cable?
I routinely charge my laptop at about 60 watts (measured). I charge my power drill battery, etc...
All USB C.
As we know, the wires inside are 33 - 30 awg.

Purchased from digikey couple of months ago.
From my invoice, here's the actual transformer.

Oh, yeah, two caps 10000 uF + 10000 uF.
Like I said, the transformer alone blows the fuse sometimes.

Simple power supply, modular design
I've built a power supply, but I decided to keep it modular so that I can change it often. So far it's like this. In box 1: [AC 125V]--[fuse ¿what size? ¿slow blow or fast?]--[switch]--[transformer, hammond 165v18, 18v 20a, new from digikey]--[banana plugs] Box 2: [terminals, wires to box 1]--[4xdio...

I used to order their odd surplus. Too bad. I'm on the east coast and I've never saw what their store looked like.

Re: Is Nuts and Volts dead ?
So, its dead now?
I checked my account and I have plenty of issues remaining, but the magazine's last issue was 2022.
So, NV is now dead
I don't want a refund. I only wish you good luck.

Re: Wall plug electrical pop noise from switch, motor, fridge, etc...
Interesting takes. I tried a simple experiment. I have a cheap paper shredder. Whenever I shred anything, an enormous pop is sent to all amplifiers. I noticed that when I used any cheap surge protector, the pop is very well reduced. Varactor? Of course, I cannot go around knocking on people's doors ...

Oh, wow. I remember the "forums" where you would snail mail a letter to the publisher. Months later, if you are lucky, it will get published in the next magazine. Now, that's slow.

Wall plug electrical pop noise from switch, motor, fridge, etc...
I live in a building. When someone's refrigerator compressor goes on or off, sometimes my audio amplifier pops.
How can you tell if it's in the 120VAC wires or is it RF in the air?
