Help Me Select a New Servo Drive Controller

Post by megabill »

I am currently looking for help selecting a new servo drive and controller.
Typically, we build around 6 servo systems per year for custom manufacturing applications.
In the past we have relied on a Pac Sci SC900 series drive with an OC950 option card that has basic language programability and is easy to link to an operator interface for ASCI character communication.

We like the Pac Sci product because:
1. it is extremely reliable
2. it is easy to set up and configure
3. The programming is fairly simple and we can control I/O without the need to add a separate PLC controller.

We don't like:
1. It is an older product and we are concerned about it going obsolete.
2. It has limited I/O capability around 20 I/O.
3. It keeps getting more expensive because it is an aged product.

Does anyone know of a similar newer servo drive/controller that can also overcome the dislikes?
