Post by dacflyer »

i have aquired a very nice TT here, problem is,, it has no speed control..
its in full warp speed mode.. you can almost listen to records in ultrasonic mode..lol
i looked inside the unit... its full of electronics.. not a typical TT it has almost 12 wires coming out of the motor alone..

anyone had any exp with these things ? looks really professional..

I did some searching on a few AudioFile Sites.
That Turn Table is considered Very Rare.

But have you at least pulled the platter off to see if it is a Belt Driven Unit?
Or if it is a Direct Drive?

I've done some Turn Table repairs.
For speed problems with Direct Drive Turn Tables.
I've found that sometimes a Cap in the Speed Controller Circuit has opened up.
I would break out the ECR Meter, and check them.

Hmm.......

This sounds like a hard one too trace the circuits on. :(

You might want too get the schematics if your planning on keeping it for yourself.
Heres a site that has the Service Manual.

What sort of testing have you done?

Have you tried it with 45's and 33 1/3 Records?

What I'm thinking is if you only tried a 33 1/3 LP on this TurnTable, And it sounded like chipmunks.
It maybe stuck in 45 RPM.
Then all you would have to do is trace the 45/33 1/3 switch back to whatever board it connects to, and find the problem.

Well, I know that isn't much to go on.
But, it is some where too start looking.:)

Good Luck!
