seems to be no needy out there.. I had a box load of brand new ones.. HP w/software and all.. finally gave them all to the seventh day adventist mission... along with a box load of sound cards, video cards, motherboards, cpu's, ram, hard drives, cases, keyboards, mice, floppy drives, and hundreds of cables...

Yes, you are right. It seems that that Hoarding, Heavy, and Hauling are all family! I did have a local person who wanted them, was going to come get them, but hey, I still have them....that says it all!

take a picture of what you have... donate it, then write if off on your taxes... get a receipt and with your pictures, you have proof of donation.. sometimes its worth more that way than to just toss them..

Are they all ISA slot or are there any PCI slot cards too?
Of course this is important for systems that dont have ISA
slots. When i build my older system i made sure to get
a few ISA slots on the motherboard along with the newer
PIC slots mostly because i designed a special interface card
myself that plugged into only an ISA slot, but that was quite a while
back now. ISA slots are almost unheard of now, and i think PCI is on it's
way out too. AGP might even be taking a nose dive soon, making
way for the new 'Express' slots which have unbelievable bandwidth.

Interesting, the new system i tried out recently (3.3GHz processor)
had a network interface built into the motherboard. The system
i currently use uses a PCI slot nic however.

The Novell cards are all ISA slot, but, I may have some PCI cards someplace else. Even some IBM token ringers are in the mix.

Hi,
While the cards may not be of use, they do have useful parts. If they have thin ethernet (BNC socket), they will have a 2W DC-DC isolated power converter with a 9V output. Input voltage will be 5 or 12V depending on model. These are great for making negative supplies for op-amps, RS232 interfaces etc. Being isolated they can be used for positive or negative voltages, or the output can be connected in series with the input supply to get 21V from a 12V source. this will operate most small 24V relays and valves etc.
They also have 3 broadband transformers in a DIL package, great for signal isolation from a few hundred kilohertz to about 30MHz.

I'd have them but I'm in the UK and the shipping is a killer!
