Hi,

I am having some problem with my 4 phase unipolar stepper motor drive board. What does preset mean here? The appropriate data is shown below.

Preset Active.
For full step mode, Level 0 set motor drive states to 1 and 3 OFF, 2 and 4 ON.

For half step mode 1, 2, 3 OFF, 4 ON.
Automatic Preset Switch at ON.

I guess it should be the default status when power on.

For full step should I feed 5V or 0V? I believe 5V TTL is for switching on the full step and 0V TTL is for switching on the half step. Is that right?

I believe the preset is for exciting the same windings each time the driver is activated. Just like when driving the motor from software and having the same windings energized at startup. If you don't do this the motor will jerk to a random position if your coils are powered up in a random fashion.
