Looking for a data sheet for old RCA chip

Post by dacflyer »

i got me a temp / humidity sensor modual out of a old Liebert H.V.A.C. unit..
i salvaged it in hope to be able to use it in a project..
i need info for the chips in it, so i can figgure out how i will use the outputs..
i need to see if they are voltage output or some sort of signal..

the chip is a RCA CD74HCT4518E cannot find a cross for it no where.
the sensors are...
TEMP - Liebert 87041
HUMIDITY - Liebert 508126 - 40% - 60%

Hi Ray,
IC Master shows it is a Dual Synchronous BCD Counter. Should be same pinout as Motorola's MC14518. No promises, but see if this looks close.... On Semi Datasheet
Good luck,
Dave

hi,

according to my quick search CD74HCT4518E is a BCD-Output Decade Up Counter.

check this out:

hope this helps!

Looks like a 4518 equivalent, but made in the 74HCT manner.

There is a data sheet for a Phillips version on this web site (www.alldatasheet.co.kr/datasheet-pdf/ pdf_kor/15630/PHILIPS/74HCT4518.html).

The original version was probably a Motorola part (MC14518 ?). Motorola added several parts to the original 4000 series CMOS but used 4500 series numbers. Many of these were redesigned as 74HC and 74HCT parts. The RCA version of these parts would have been CD74HCT4518. It appears that Philips also made them at one time, since that is the data sheet I referenced.

This part appears to have been discontinued. The ON Semiconductor and Freescale (formerly Motorola) sites don't seem to recognize the part number. The Phillips site also lacks a reference to it.

Forget about the CD prefix. That was used by RCA, which was split up and sold off years ago. A few of the RCA parts may still be made by Harris or Intersil. The original part seems to have been the MC14518B, in the 4000 series.

Do a google search for "74hct4518".

Was the On Semi datasheet I provided incorrect??? I thought the pin-outs would be the same

Both Jameco and Digikey still have CD4518s in stock, and links to the spec sheet.
