Historic off topic...

Greetings.
Just noticed it has been over 20 years registered here.
What were the forums that closed doors and a bunch of us migrated here from them ? Was it Microsoft groups or Electronics World or Electronics Now or Popular Electronics or all of them ? Sequence if not asking too much ?
My memory is well faded. Do you remember the mid-nineties forums ? Just remember being ultra active boards with spectacular subjects.

Hadn't thought the time went by that fast. I'm coming up on the start of my 19th year here.

I was part of the radio group on Yahoo groups, mostly AA5 radios, TRF and REGEN topologies. I liked it because the people there would regularly post schematics with quite detailed explanations. Of course, Yahoo! has become a thin shell of it's former self, so C'est La Vie.

Before that it was the thrill of finding things via wildcard searches on places like AltaVista and other search engines of the time. How much of that early stuff have you squirreled away?

I think I'v been here about 22 yrs or so..
Seen a lot of stuff on here, and a lotta good people faded away..
I bet if there was a Last seen selection on here, you'd find so many that haven't been on line here in years, Probably no longer active..

Oh, wow. I remember the "forums" where you would snail mail a letter to the publisher. Months later, if you are lucky, it will get published in the next magazine. Now, that's slow.

Hey MicroRem...
Did you loose your password for your old account?
Maybe ask CeaSar if he can reset the password for you?

I probably would of been on the forums sooner, if not for the fact that I was still on dial-up till about 2004.
Then DSL became available in my area.
I was no longer tying up the phone line, and could get speeds of 1.5Kbps at the time.

Unfortunately that is one thing I don't have access to. Spammers, on the other hand...

You can always call up or write to the Lemieux family if you have a deeper issue.

Janitor Tzap, yes apparently, I am not even sure where the Microrem1 "handle" came from. I went to do a reset and this is what I got.
doesn't seem like I have been away all that long
shrug

Curiosity has gotten the better of me.....

I looked at your old profile and this new one.
The old profile has a registered date of: Tue Dec 04, 2001 3:01 am.
The new one has a registered date of: Fri Aug 17, 2007 9:59 am

Your old posts under "MicroRem" are still viewable.
But they are not linked to your most recent posts under "MicroRem1".

Something Screwy Is Going On Around Here.

That URL has nothing to do with subject of thread, nor DSL. Does not look like ad, but is off topic.
He tried to hide it comma.
I say it should be removed.
Mucking up the forum tags just made it easier to spot.
