Oh man, now I feel bad for even starting this topic!
All these spammers using the topic, only to promote they're own website though veiled responses to the said topic!
:(

UPDATE:

Well, the Deep Fryer is collecting dust on the shelf now.
Because most everyone here has come down with some sort of medical condition.
And greasy deep fried food has been taken off our diets. :sad:

But......
Menards put some 2 Quart Air Fryers on sale for $29.95, plus there was a $10.00 rebate!
{Thus, even after taxes it came to about $25.00!}
So, I went ahead and purchased one.

I must say, it is different than deep frying.
{Working out the cooking temperature, cooking time per weight, or number of items in the basket, can get tricky.}
But most foods like; onion rings, tatter tots, french fries, pizza rolls, egg rolls, are coming out crispy or crunchy without the grease.

As for clean up of the air fryer.
Easy, just pull the basket out, and rinse it out with hot water.
Or wipe it out with soap and hot water.

I actually have something similar i just remembered.. Remember the Flavor-wave cooker ? basically the same deal.. a micro convection oven.
This is a picture of what it looks like.. mine has an actual heating element in it.. newer ones had a halogen heat lamp/ tube. I don't think they lasted as long..

Hmmm........
I've seen these in the thrift stores.
I wondered if they were a convection oven, or some kind of food warmer. :lol:

Well, using a halogen heat lamp in something like that, is a dumb idea.
I've worked on rebuilding fuser units for laser printers.
And the halogen lamps in them were very delicate.
You didn't want ANY THING to touch the glass.
Otherwise it would cause it to crack or break from the heat it would generate.

Thus, a cooker with a halogen heat lamp would be an accident just waiting to happen.
{Water, Oil, or food that gets spattered on to the bulb (BANG!).
