i have seen the 1.2" led displays on adafruit ( the backpacks ) i am looking for larger displays that operate like the back packs.
do they make larger ones ?
if not how can i make my own ? the backpacks seem to use just 4 connections. (I2C)

So, if you were to just get the "backpack" board they sell here:

and then use discreet LEDs for each segment, you could make a pretty big display like this:

i actually used some 10 displays and a driver board, and then built my GPS clock.. trying to get a case made for it now.
