BURGESS BUG KILLER 960

Post by frhrwa » Fri Jul 19, 2013 3:37 pm

I have a two ea. foggers, both Burgess 960 models.. the heat elements on both went out and I cannot find a BURGESS that manufacturers these in order to get new ones? Sears sent me a substitute, not even close, won't fit, and won't work.. ? any clues where to get two barrels? I have pictures of mine and the one they sent.. I found two components bad, one in each.. the thermo device that lets the coil heat up.. 63TM01 L-500-50F other numbers on them are C0045 10002 where can I get two each of these?

do you have pictures of the bad parts?
the L-500-50F almost sounds like a thermal switch...but not sure.
show some pictures if you can...

In Newark I can find a similar looking "disc thermostat" but they appear to be a 60F not 50F. Look at NTE-DTO60 and see if you think it might work. Any NTE part should be available at you local electronics store.

Without the specific dimensions of your switch I can't say for sure it would fit but there were several different manufacturers in Newark so I'm thinking one should work.

I'll go out and measure.. be back in a bit.. 60 would probably work fine, that makes it a little hotter right?

i cannot remember how to decipher it correctly.. i thought it turns off at 500F then closes back after a 50F fall. not for sure..
there used to be a code that you could use to decipher them,
