I am getting ready to change to a new web/mail host. The one I am with has ongoing problems with email and other issues including value for dollar.
If anybody out there has good or bad opinions that will help navigate me through the sea of web hosts out there please shout out. I am currently considering Fat Cow as the new host, and would like to make the change as soon as practical. .
Thanks for the opinions in advance!

Well it depends on what you need. I did a search again for a web site host because of problems with the one I am using now and I just moved about two months ago. are three choices besides microsoft office - http://www.officelive.com/en-us/ from http://www.hunch.com/ . You don't need to register but it would probably help.

Greetings from across the M-D line!
I've been looking for a new host also, albeit a free one (see my thread in this forum).
I looked up your choice and found this review:
http://www.upperhost.com/fatcow-hosting-review.htm
on this (>Yahoo! search<). Seems to have a lot going for it except support.
Let us know what you come up with.

Interesting report, but, I must wonder about it's accuracy! The hosting rate is way higher in the report than the Fat Cow price on their site (Under $4 / mo) , and confirmed today by their sales rep. They have both Stateside and offshore (who doesn't) support but for $3 per month additional they will provide a Stateside only priority hot line for support. That's about $7 per month per site, which is still lower than my present host.

PS Not much over the line ether, just south of Hanover / Gettysburg !

I've been using GoDaddy for 7 or 8 years now. No problems. They're big, but still competitive. Good luck!

I've used http://www.verio.com/ and found them to be a reliable hosting company. I can't vouch for the tech support as I haven't needed it, maybe that speaks for itself.
If you want dead simple site design and managed hosting give http://www.squarespace.com/ a try. They have great tools to help design pages. If you're interested there are a few promo codes to get you 10% the life of your order.

I also have used Verio for years. I have no clue what their lowest cost web hosting packages cost but I don't think they are in the 4 or 5 dollar range.SETEC_Astronomy wrote:I've used http://www.verio.com/ and found them to be a reliable hosting company. A quick check shows they have a plan for $9.95 a month, not too bad but definitely not the cheapest.
Re: Web Host Opinion? (No Not Spam!)
I couldn't check from work but for someone who wants to pop $120 a year that $9.95 plan isn't bad with some nice features. Must be about 9 years now I have used Verio and they have been fine with me. I looked at their WINDOWS HOSTING and it really isn't a bad package as to what is included and supported.SETEC_Astronomy wrote:A quick check shows they have a plan for $9.95 a month, not too bad but definitely not the cheapest.
