Dell 1800MP

I saw the post about this earlier but could not reply to it.
My projector is having the same issues as stated in the prior post - when I try to turn it on all I get is an orange blip on the lamp light.
Did the cleaning end up fixing anyone's projector? I was in the process of taking mine apart but the cover doesn't seem to want to come off. I assume it is the top that is removed correct? the front is fine but the back wants to stay attached right in the middle...I have an issue with prying expensive plastic so I haven't done anything further...
If anyone has further information on this it would be great. I know my lamp only has 791 hours on it, I was actually able to get it turned on after being stubborn one time and continually pushing the power button
