It may be of use for some. Very simple, done, works, happy.
Get the power cord,
-get the 1uF 275VAC capacitor,
-get the bridge rectifier,
-get any electrolytic capacitor around 1000uF/25V,
-get the fan.
Connect black from the power cord to one lead of the 1uF/275V capacitor;
The other side of that capacitor to ACinput #1 of the bridge rectifier;
The whitel from the power cord to the other ACinput #2 of the rectifier bridge.
The electrolytic capacitor and the fan in parallel to the rectified DC observing polarity.
Runs somewhat under rating, can be an attic fan, bathroom vent, whatever fan. Compact, no transformer; watch your fingers, it's all live/nonisolated. You may want to solder a fuse in series to the black lead.
