Small Remote Control Transmitter/Receiver

Post by barkster »

Does anyone know where I can get a small remote controller transmitter and reciever? I just need something that will turn a motor on/off when transmitter button is held down? I was thinking I could strip something off one of my kids toys. Any suggestions or point me in the right direction.

My easy-to-build remote control article was published in the April 2002 issue of Nuts and Volts.
It consists of a small transmitter and receiver that operates at 416 MHZ. The RF sections of the circuits are ready-made low cost modules. The receiver contains a relay that can be used to operate any other electrical device.

I have seen these things in Nuts&Volts advertisements as well as in many other publications in the popular electronics/science format.Thay seem to be priced in the $29.00 area.

Have a look at the offerings from Rentron:

I'm using thier TWS-434 / RWS-434 combination. Less than $9 per in single quantities.<p>
