Quick question. What color is the motor? if it is any of the normal motor colors (red, black, etc...) and it sits in the sun, you would do it well to paint it another color. Head on down to the local auto parts store and look for hi-temp exhaust paint - the kind you use to paint your muffler. If you can't find it, try The Eastwood Company . Item # 10020Z is a 10 oz spray can of hi temp "muffler" paint - silver matte and will withstand 300 deg. F for $10.99. Item # 10396Z is a 11.75 oz spray can of hi temp "header" paint - silver matte and will withstand 1200 deg. F for $15.99. They are supposed to last for years and will reflect away a good bit of the sun's energy.
