And now for something totally different.. probably doesn't exhist.

Post by dacflyer »

I used to use one of my old computers as a jukebox playing music, I could make my own play list etc. Typically used Rio-port player.. worked great for my use. But i am wanting something smaller / portable if possible.
I been looking online for usb / sd card players. (if it had internal storage, even better) But I have had no luck. just junk that play file after file.

what i'm looking for
USB / SD card (onboard storage if an option)
built in amp
display - so I can select / make my play list.

Any ideas ? I think years - eons ago I thought there was something mentioned in the N&V magazine looked like something you could add to your stereo.

IDEA... I remember I have an old Chrome book here.. I wonder if i could use that. It's got headphone jack and usb and i think an SD card slot.
I'd have to see what media player I could install on it.. Not sure if rio-port player is still around or not.

Rio-port player was bought out by eCast.
But eCast went under in 2012.

Here's a jukebox app for the PC.
It uses your own music files, that are on your computer.

For Chrome / Android, I use Pulsar Media Player from Rhythm Software. It's available on the Google Play Store.
This is the free version:

Now, if you want an older, but still works with New Windows versions, I still have TrayPlay that I've had since Win98. It may not play everything and still be a bare bones just audio player, but it's only 68 kb. Message me if you want it.
Hey, what do I know?
