I saw a el-cheapo Harbor Freight bench grinder disassembled in a YouTube flick to be repurposed.
It has a plastic base and housing, and the bright green ground wire, from the 3 wire cord set, was proudly attached, with a screw, to a boss in the plastic base? I thought there would be a wire going into the motor housing to ground the motor frame since it has threaded steel shafts for the wheels, but I guess I thunk wrong!

I'm surprised they wasted a screw on that wire.. I've seen plastic appliances with a 3 wire cord and the ground was just cut off inside.

Or, because of supply and demand, the 3 wire cords were cheaper!

Have you tested it? Maybe the plastic is conductive!

Well, the plastic could be 'conductive' maybe in the megohms, like anti-static bags but I doubt it is less than the NEC 25 ohms standard and certainly is more than the 0.5 ohms as required under NFPA 99 which is a common standard.
