I have a tablet RCA model RCT6773W22 That I would like to put a external WIFI antenna on this unit
for more signal.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks
Moe

you might try the antenna out of a old laptop screen...i assume the wifi antennas all have the same sort of tiny connector. it pretty much looks like just a piece of micro coax to me.

I've looked at the PDF file of this Voyager RCA Tablet.

There isn't a jack for a external antenna.
It only has one jack for head phones/ear buds, and one mini USB port, that also acts as the charging port.
So far I'm only seeing hacks for base stations, or external USB WIFI Transceivers

or WIFI Extenders.

Re: RCA tablet external antenna wifi
if you want to get to the wifi antenna, you will probably have to get inside of the tablet..
Re: RCA tablet external antenna wifi
Adding wire to an antenna randomly often does not result in increased gain. In fact depending on the stub length you impart, you can have VSWR reflections that reduce your signal level or create multipath reception which will kick in the error correction and slow down the data rate.
In Tablets I have seen mostly Dipole and loop configurations which are not straightforward to extend.
You are much better off getting a WiFi repeater or a more powerful router.
I have seen self adhesive patches intended to be placed on cell phones allegedly increasing signal strength but I doubt they work well, more likely just fooling the receiver into showing more bars on the strength display.
Lets see of the FCC allows T-Mobile and Verizon to overlap WiFi band with Cellular then see what that does to our signals. Worse fears is Wi-Fi slows everywhere

hehe. Maybe you could hold it up to your head, like we do with our car remotes to increase range!
