Batteries For Solar Sensor Security

Post by zenobia »

I need to replace battery in our 22 Led Solar Power Rechargeable PIR Motion Sensor Security.
Since I'm not sure what kind of battery to use.
So, I decided to ask it here. Can I use AA solar rechargeable battery there? How long it will take?

need more info on the light.. what battery is in it now ?

solar PIR light would need a larger battery i am sure...

i have a home built solar PIR light with 30 watt led, extremely bright..
i'd say it is = to a 100 watt metal halide.

you may need to determine the battery chemistry. assuming you are replacing what looks like a AA rechargeable battery, it is probably NiMh as LiIon is very recent in such products and NiCr has been out of favor almost a decade.

However to power 22 LEDs, I think you'll need more than one battery.

Post the model # or a photo or we are just wild guessing here

The current battery is powerbase AA NiCd 1.2 v. However, I throw already the previous battery.

for a simple solar garden light such as you describe, i think you can use normal ni-cad batteries.
i see them for about 5-7 dollars at the local hardware stores..2 packs.

sometimes it is cheaper to just buy a new light.
