How do you tell the difference between an sli motherboard and a crossfire one? because i have an nvidia 9800gt and i need to make sure i dont put it into a crossfire one cause apparently they dont work. And also what happens when you put a nvidia card into a crossfire motherboard?

Hello,

You would look up the motherboard model number on the web or in the manual and see if it says one or the other. That's the only way i know of to tell, although someone else here may know another way.

In the case of a single card it doesn't matter. You only need to worry about it if you plan to install a pair of cards and configure in SLI or CrossFire. However, if you plan to just install a single card it matters not.
