May you all have a happy (and solemn) Memorial Day. Thanks to all of those who served the cause of peace in a military uniform. Dean H I recall was US Navy, and I'm sure there are a lot more former and current members of our military here on the forum. My thanks go to all of you.

JWAX, thanks for your service! My father was Air Force before I was around, but he always spoke fondly of his time in. Might be interesting to start a thread for former military/intel types to say howdy. I was a USCG boat driver. Had a great time and best of all they pay me to not show up. Again, thanks to all who served.

Re: Thanks to all who served
While remembering those who serve, we should also remember why.
Have a peaceful Memorial Day.

My utmost appreciation to all the men and women in uniform. Without your service and sacrifice,
I, my family, my country, and indeed, a great part of the world, would not be free to persue any
of the endeavors we seek.
A great thank you to all, not just today, but every day.

PS, A personal moment of silence for my Grandfather, WWI, Calvary, Uncle, WWII, Mechanized Infantry,
Battle of the Bulge, and Father in-law, WWII (Japan occupation), Korea, and Vietnam, USAF. All made it
through to come home and live long, happy lives. I miss them.

Hi,
I had lost two uncles in the Korean War. They must have been quite young too, what a shame.
They are buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Re: Thanks to all who served
It was a pleasure to serve. Without a doubt, I got more out of my service than they did out of me. Where else but the military can you get the professional experience required for a job without having to have professional experience starting out?
