Contact Monitor

I am looking for a way to monitor about 16 alarm contacts remotely. I plan to install standard alarm contacts on my doors and windows. I want to run these to a central location, and then somehow send the status of these contacts through a single Cat 5 wire to a monitor station consisting of a LED to light up and show that the door or window is closed. Has anyone seen a circuit or system for sale that would do this.

They make wireless systems and control panels that do this with out having to drill holes for wires. Check out some of the alarm systems on the web for wireless transmitters and control panels.
