I have a superhomer aircraft radio and would like to hook
it up to listen to the aircraft traffic and relive the old days.
Does anyone have experience doing this and is other equipment
necessary to get it functioning? Thanks Paul

Re: Narco superhomer aircraft radio
you might have better luck if you checked with a local airport radio shop.
Re: Narco superhomer aircraft radio
Wow. There is a lot of information available when you google "narco superhomer", like an available service manual at http://www.esscoaircraft.com/Narco_VHT_ ... p/2222.htm
for $20.00.
Digging into the links of old magazines is interesting too. I found out:
there is more than one model of Narco Superhomer. Check that the manual is for your model #.
that the FAA no longer approves the transmitter in this radio because it is tunable,
that in 1960 in England, your wage depends on how old you are,
that insruments with radium dials are not servicable,
and lots of other neat stuff.
Yeesh! I've still got a Westclox wind up alarm clock with a radium dial, and electronics with leaded solder. I guess I'm doomed to die of radiation and lead poisoning.

Thanks for the replies. I have also found similar references.
I was looking for someone who had actually made the conversion.
I have the receiver but wondered what other equipment is necessary
to get it to receive.
