Trying to read PM on new forum

my guess is he deleted it after sending it, before you read it.

i THINK it works like this:
When you send a PM in phpBB it dosent work like email where you send it and thats that. It puts it in your outbox, and waits for the person to read it. When they read it it moves it to your sent messages. I think he deleted it while it was still in his outbox, before you got to reading it.

Ill try doing exactly what i just said to you and see if the same thing happens.

Okay, I see your new message, and like the other one I can't
open it. I did get a test email from another member and I can
open that one (and I did reply directly).

So retracted messages are deleted from the sender's outbox,
but leave a record of delivery at the recipient's inbox.

Perhaps the original sender will resend their message again.
