Trying to decypher the midi article in Nuts and Volts March 2009.
Page 40 column two, second paragraph. "Areas 1 and 2 implement Switches
1 and 2 in the block diagram, respectively." Anyone?
Where are areas 1 and 2?

Re: Where are areas 1 and 2?
It may refer to the earlier article, and involve subdivisions of the mistralXG.

Good point. I loaned my copy to someone. I'll reread theafarawayland wrote:It may refer to the earlier article, and involve subdivisions of the mistralXG.
part one text on line, time permitting, and take it from
there.
Re: Where are areas 1 and 2?
Areas 1 and 2 were moved to Area 51
Re: Where are areas 1 and 2?
Where is that? I was hoping to learn about MIDI stuff, but thatrolerbe wrote:Areas 1 and 2 were moved to Area 51
article was just too hard to follow? Has anyone else here tried
to build the hardware, or understand the MIDI technology?
Re: Where are areas 1 and 2?
While I still don't know where areas 1 & 2 are, I do know that
Area 51 is -> here.

Hey, what do I know?
Re: Where are areas 1 and 2?
I've only just discovered this thread. I'm the author of the mistralXG project. Areas 1 & 2 (and several others) were indicated on the original schematic I provided to N&V when I submitted the article. Unfortunately, they were removed by the magazine's staff during layout. You can still get the original schematic in the project files from the N&V site.
