Would anyone know where to get single sided PCB? I cannot find a single place that can sell that. I can get double sided from Radio Shack but I do not want double sided because I do not need it!
Would anyone know of a source? I am looking for 5.5 x 5 inch PCB.
Thanks.
single sided PCB, where?
Re: single sided PCB, where?
I bought from McMaster-Carr. They have the G10 single sided in 36" by 24" sheets, and it's available in 1/16" and 1/32" thickness. It seems expensive and sure it's a more then you need now but it works out to about $1.60 for a 5.5" by 5" 1/16" board including shipping. I like the 1/32" material myself, you can cut it with just a good pair of scissors and its less expensive.

Are you thinking of copper-clad raw material?Volter wrote:Would anyone know where to get single sided PCB?
A Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is typically a finished
product that is often custom manufactured to a
specific requirement.
Re: single sided PCB, where?
Thank you guys. Yes, I am looking for a blank sheet of it and seemed like there is none.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: single sided PCB, where?
I have a piece of scrap single sided, approx. 8" X 8" X 0.062" material. I think it is 1/2 Oz copper clad, but it may be 1 Oz (not sure how to easily check the copper thickness). Email me with your location, and if you want to pay shipping, and throw an extra one dollar in for me shipping it over my lunch hour it is all yours. Just let me know by email at ddixon, and then after that add in "at sign" aeromach and a period "com". Let me know how quick you want it too!
Unless you want to send me Gerber files, and I'll just make it for you real cheap!

PCB materials are described by copper weight per square foot.Dave Dixon wrote:I have a piece of scrap single sided, approx. 8" X 8" X 0.062" material. I think it is 1/2 Oz copper clad, but it may be 1 Oz (not sure how to easily check the copper thickness).
Common raw material sizes are:
- 0.5 oz 0.00072 inch
1 oz 0.0014 inch
2 oz 0.0028 inch
the substrate weight will vary by 'build-up' - how many
strands of fiber per mat, and epoxy density. A better
method is to detach the copper and measure thickness.
Nearly all PCB processes use plating and so the final copper
weight is greater, and so the industry uses the 0.5 oz base
for most products at 1 0z/sq-ft.

Re: single sided PCB, where?
Thanks Bigglez, Not enough time in the day for me to check, but that is good info to have!
I shipped it off today to Volter- $1.85 is my cost for the shipping. A buck for my time (handling) isn't expected, but would be greatly appreciated! Best of luck,
Dave

Re: single sided PCB, where?
I just remembered that I bought some cheap surplus sheets of single sided "PCB" in the late '80s. I was thinking of giving my kitchen cupboards and appliances a "copper look" by making cupboard doors with PCB inserts. My old appliances had facilities to slide in different colors. I never used them.
I just found 8 sheets of this 2 feet by 3 feet single sided 1/32" fiberglass board stored under the hall stairs. They are still in their factory plastic bags.

EDIT:
I made a mistake. These 8 sheets are at least 3 feet by 4 feet.

That would be really great to have enough etching trays and make some really neat looking cabinets that would display lights or whatever!!! I love that idea!
How much do you sell them for?

Re: single sided PCB, where?
Either you'd have to cut them or etch them in something like a large hot tub, hehe. They are too wide for a bathtub.Volter wrote:That would be really great to have enough etching trays and make some really neat looking cabinets that would display lights or whatever!!! I love that idea!
Shipping these at full size might be the biggest expense. It might not be possible. What is your location? PM me or email rjcscott at mailcity dot comHow much do you sell them for?

I am moving to the "Up for Grabs" section if anyone is interested in some SS, 1/32, FB, PCB.Volter wrote:That would be really great to have enough etching trays and make some really neat looking cabinets that would display lights or whatever!!! I love that idea!
