Hello,
I probably talked about my old shaver/trimmer (well it was only a trimmer)
here a while back, about the fact that the tiny NiCd's went dead after
only about 1 year operation and so the unit would not work anymore,
so i ripped out the cells and replaced them with two AA NiMH cells with
a battery holder so i would swap them out if needed.
Well, i finally i purchased a new trimmer and it actually has a shaver
attachment for pseudo close normal shaves too. But anyway, after
i got home i looked it up on the web and cant seem to find this model
anywhere. They have models close to this one, but not the same at
all because this one has a special shaver head that comes with it and
the others dont seem to have that, and that was the main selling point
for me.
Anyone care to try to find this? Here is the model number:
GMT182X
and it is made by Conair.
Please note that other model numbers are not the same even
though they start with GMT182, such as GMT182CP, which is not the same.
It has to be exactly GMT182X, or perhaps GMT182X with other letters
following such as CP or TCP, but that "X" has to be in the number or
else it is not the same.
I guess it also has the tiny NiCd's in there so i cant expect it to last
forever as is, but then i guess it will be time to mod it too.
Thanks...

I've known about the price match scam for years. Best Buy is a big one for this. I had it confirmed by a former Best Buy employee as well.
When Wards was still in business I would "convert" some of their TVs into Zeniths by going into the service menu and changing a setting. In one position the set acted as a Wards (I believe they called their TVs Signature brand). In another setting it would be a Zenith. Same exact set, same picture quality, but entirely different looking menus. As I recall the Zenith setting had more features. I've also done the reverse to my Zenith set. And believe it or not, it even changes the REMOTE CONTROL code!
So for a simple programming code from the remote control I could convert a "store" brand TV into a "name" brand.
