PIC PRogrammer Recommendation
PIC PRogrammer Recommendation
Anyone have any recommendations for a PIC programmer? My current one died tonight. Something relatively low cost would be great, thanks!

the world has changed a bit. JDM is useless to build, I was referring to an ICD2 clone. there are lots of designs out there and many people have successfully built the Stolz design: http://home.vrweb.de/~lotharstolz/stolz ... /main.htmlJPKNHTP wrote:It only works on some PICs but I have had great luck with this circuit http://www.jdm.homepage.dk/newpic.htm . It's called the JDM programmer and uses RS232. You can use it with plenty of free programs such as icpicprog, icprog, winpic, etc..... (Check google for info and others). I use icprog and like it.
there is also one that uses the 18F4550 as an interface instead of the cypress chip. It is supposedly blazingly fast but I've only heard anecdotal reports. A quick google didn't turn it up.
