Does anyone know about a good home-brew in-circuit emulator project for PICs, preferably minimum cost, operating off a PC platform? Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Microchip ICD is documented on the Microchip Web site and several people have rolled their own with varying degrees of success. Do a Web search for Microchip ICD and you'll find plenty. You might also search for ICD at PICList.<p>Olimex sells an ICD "clone" assembled for a low price. I haven't used it, but I do use his headers for the ICD which are a good deal since the cheap Microchip ICD doesn't include headers.
