Hookup for RCA cctv camera

Post by spindown »

I have an RCA cctv camera model tc100002? that I would like to use with an older model tv that does not have a-v inputs. Can someone advise the type of power supply I would need and what kind of interface. **There is a caution on the rear of the camera advising use of a Class 2 supply only. What is a class 2 supply?? Thanks Paul

You will need to trace down the wires and their configuration first. The video signal needs to be converted to a "Channel 3/4" signal from the standard 6 MHz signal that it already produces. These little boxes are called modulators and they are available from radio Shack or you can cannibalize them from old VCR's. The power supply simply needs to be isolated from the wall power, it needs to be clean and filtered, as well as regulated to keep the voltage within at least 1 volt + or -. Nothing special, just no noise, hash, or spikes.
