Old Geiger counter information needed
Old Geiger counter information needed
I have a U.S. Navy Radiacmeter IM-74/PDR-27C manufactured by the Admiral Corporation. The last calibration sticker is 1964, but it appears to be in good shape. It takes "D" batteries, but there is no indication on the case how they are arranged in the holder. Does anyone have any familiarity with this unit or have an old manual? I would like to find out if it is still functional, but have no idea how to insert the batteries.<p>Henry Barwood

Re: Old Geiger counter information needed
I've got an IM-62/PDR-10A by Nuclear Instrument and Chemical Corp.. I have no idea what kind of batteries it takes, and the calibration sticker is too dirty to read. It appeared to be in good shape, and was going for a buck a pound, so I bought it hoping for the best. Can anyone here tell me what batteries it takes?
