Looking for mains transformers

Post by bodgy »

I'm trying to find a retail outlet for Hahns transformers.
They are encapsulated PCB mounting and have a very small footprint. The Hahn website has no purchasing info and www.electeurope.de seem only to be a wholesaler.
Alternatively is there a US company that produces small footprint encapsulated transformers with 2*115v primaries?
Colin
PS If anyone gets Elektor magazine they'll know the transformers I'm talking about.

I've had good luck calling wholesalers and asking for a sample.
Get a hold of a sales person and ask! Don't be afraid to ask for several of the same item. They might ask what company you are with.
I'm a weasel, I'll say just about anything to get what I want.
If this tact ain't your thing, tell them you are a hobbiest and your having a hard time finding your part.
At the very least they should be able to tell you of a retailer for their product in your area.
happy hunting!

Thanks folks.
MCI appear to make similar transformers to the Hahns ones - so I'll see who stocks those in the US.
I hadn't thought of trying the MSN search engine I almost always use google so I'll give this a whirl.
I always feel guilty asking for samples when it's for my own personal use - though I have done this with one manufacturer as their lead time for a hard to get component was 35 weeks and samples were available immediately.
bodgy
