Assuming I was building this and with the "camera" that has only one pixel for one chip, scanned simply like a keyboard...
(I think that is good because the game board is not full of wires.)<p>I would probably also program the robotic arm using programming which is used once on the first run of the game, in which a person controls the arm to move each chip or other move, and that motion data gets stored in an eeprom. So the winner could be handed a shot I suppose.<p>Anthropomorphic or animatronic programming has been around since 1970, and is a shortcut to programming robots to act human also.

sorry don't be confused... one pixel per chip (game-piece) in the camera.
