AVR Butterfly Power problem; Smileys workshop

I forgot that it actually matters where you wire the ground on the AVR butterfly. I put the positive lead in the right place. but I out the negative lead from the batter box two places to the left from where I was supposed to put it as shown in the August 2008 issue of nuts and volts. The LCD screen did look like it was dying or something. The kind of look you would get if the battery was dying. But I operated it for a while. Then I shut it off because I had to step out. Now when I turn the power on. The LCD screen shows nothing. Did I fry it?

What should I do?
