Old Dremel

Post by Lenp »

Well it happened!
My 30+ year old Dremel model 380 made fire in the hole. This is one of the first models that was variable speed.

I have the intact housing and what's left of the defective (maybe repairable) speed control if anyone wants them for parts. The speed control failed and was long ago replaced with a slide switch and external controller

In this model, the speed control was cleverly installed into the slide switch opening on the housing used on earlier tools, so it's likely that this housing will fit other models.

Interested, just pay shipping. (East Coast)

TIP: Salvage the shaft, collets and nut from a junker Dremel. It makes a great adapter for a drill press chuck that won't close on the small bits!

(Hope the new units are half as reliable!)
