I just happened to have been perusing throught the "bargains in unredeemed merchandise" within the Up for Grabs section of the forum and run across the reference to tales of Carl and Jerry that was done by John Fry in the very early days of Popular Electronics mag.
Now for those of you that are not familiar with even earlier characters, such as the likes of Tom Swift as well as the The Hardy Boys.
