VCC verses VSS

VCC verses VSS

Does any one know the real difference between VSS VCC and VDD????
I have circuits that use both VSS and VCC and
VDD in the same circuit Im wondering what is the
real meaning of VSS VCC etc.

Vcc is usually used to lable power supplies for bipolar devices, that is Vcc is usually tied to Collectors of BJT transistors and the like. Vss and Vdd are the names given to power supplies or voltages related to Field Effect Transistors and related devices. That is, Vss is usually tied to Sources and Vdd is usually tied to Drains. <p>Its just a lable, used to make schematics a bit easier to read.
