My Optrex LCD

I have a large Optrex graphic LCD, model DMF-50840.
It doesn't have a controller.
I'm still a n00b when it comes to a lot of aspects of electronics, so I'm asking if someone can look over the data sheet and tell me if a SED1330-compatible controller could be made from a PIC? If it can be done, I can write the code without a problem.
Also, would anyone be interested in buying or trading for the display I have? I got it in a trade without even thinking there'd be no controller....
It's CCFL backlit, 320x240, with a 4-bit parallel data bus.
The link to the datasheet can be found here
Thanks!

If I recall, the SED controller is basically the Toshiba without the text capability.
I've seen SED controllers sold separately on my wanderings about the net (as surplus).
Anyhow the answer is yes you can, try and hunt down the May and June issues of Elektor, they have precisely this using an 8051uC.
You can download the software from their site www.elektor_electronics.co.uk, click on Free Downloads and then on June issue (#302) the software is there.
Also if you click on Hyperlinks for the two months there are some suggested reading sites Seiko and Eio
Colin
[ October 03, 2003: Message edited by: bodgy ]
