Seems there's missing component values of the amplifier in the article in the Dec 2008 magazine. I don't receive the soft version of the magazine, maybe the values are in there? Could anybody supply the component list?

I don't have the BOM for that article - the on-line editionjwax wrote:Seems there's missing component values of the amplifier in the article in the Dec 2008 magazine. I don't receive the soft version of the magazine, maybe the values are in there? Could anybody supply the component list?
is a clone of the print version in PDF format. (With the
incredible advantage that you can click on embedded
links and jump to web pages or email the authors, etc).
From the text I gather the input op amp is a TL072,
and the output amp is an LM386.
It seems that this is a "kit only" article, available from the N & V store.
This is a poorly documented article, stating only 4 components: TL071,
LM386, R9 = 10 ohms, D3 is a 5V zener. The rest, who knows? Though
the hardware aspects are described well, all the screws, standoffs etc. are
there. NV should post an apology and a parts/vendor list of all components
on their website and in January's issue.

Hey, what do I know?
Don't assume they know of this problem or read this forum.CeaSaR wrote:NV should post an apology and a parts/vendor list of all components on their website and in January's issue.
If you'd like to raise the issue send an email to:
Robin Lemieux [email protected]
Actually, someone over there actually does read and post here.Bigglez wrote:Don't assume they know of this problem or read this forum.

Thank you for your direction.

After reading the article it occurred to me that ajwax wrote:Seems there's missing component values of the amplifier in the article in the Dec 2008 magazine. I don't receive the soft version of the magazine, maybe the values are in there? Could anybody supply the component list?
laser pointer could be placed on the microphone
stem, to provide a target marker. The listener
could then aim the dish by looking for the dot.

Hmmmm. With that mod, it might not be a good idea to use the ear to hear what they're saying in the Presidential motorcade!

The parts list was inadvertently left out the article. It has been available since the website was updated to the December issue... Sorry for the confusion.

Might be a good idea to check there for missing files. That's where all the article files go for readers.
