Hello all...

I am doing a small design that needs a small alpha display.

4 chars wide would be nice.

.75" wide and .375" tall.

5volts or less

dont care what type of interface is needed.

THANKS!

Tony

By far the easiest solution is an "Intelliegent Display"
from Osram/Siemens/Avago. I've played with several
surplus ones from eBay, after finding the first two
unmarked pieces at the local electronics fleamarket
(and sitting on them for two years trying to find a
correct datasheet).

The HDLO-2416are available from Digikey for real money

Here's a quick PIX of the first two Intelligent Displays that I
got running (2004), using an Atmel Attiny 2313. These are 4
digit 10mm. Other sizes and colours are available.

Hello Bigglez.

I was looking at a very similar part from Osram.. HDSP2000LP

I was not able to find a location to purchase it thou.

The part you mentioned is great and what I am looking for...
It is kinda wider then my design requirements.

The parts you have in your stock pile... are they smaller?
willing to be purchased? I only need 2 at most.

Thanks for the input and if all else fails I will be getting the
digikey part mentioned.

Before hitting Digikey try eBay. I found them a couple of
times. The last purchase I made was a BIN auction.
I did a "make an offer" for about half the eBay list price,
and got ten pieces. They are physically smaller than
the green ones I posted earlier. Perhaps five mm high LEDs?
