color codes? we don't need no steenkin color codes...

seriously, I've given up on resistor color codes - I have a hard time on 1/8 watt resistors telling what the actual colors are. I just pull out the dmm and measure it. Nothing like confusing orange for red and then wondering why the circuit doesn't work right.

And the chinese resistors, you can't tell if is grey, white or yellow.
Red, brown or orange
Blue or green
Violet looks weird too.

Many years ago I composed this:

niño con bigote feliz porque va tomando whisky extranjero

Would any of you guess what it is for ?

Translation is not a clue to the answer: Boy with happy mustache because goes drinking foreign whisky

I know. It's frustrating buying a hundred 10K resistors and finding out later that they gave you 100K because nobody can tell the difference between the ambiguous reddish-orange and orangy-red paints.

So what are the 10 colors in Spanish?

You have used all 26 letters at least once, so this phase
would be useful for testing any alphabet system
(keyboard, display, printer, LED scoreboard, etc.)

Some characters are duplicated (a,e,i,n,o,r,t) for
a total of 49 characters.

It is possible to use the triangle idea for those parameters that use time as part of the equation, though there is one extra step.

so for capacitors.

i would be on the top 1/3 of the triangle. below it would be c | v. Like this of course t is missing so that needs to be placed next to the i

So -

Code: Select all

    it
  C | V
All that needs to be remembered is that it = CV and therefore the final result needs to have 'i' / 't'

Inductors would be similar except it would be Vt on the top with I | L on the bottom
