Signal Time Delay
I need to implement a time delay of a 5V signal somewhere in the neighborhood of 20ms to 2000ms. What is the simplest way to do this with hardware?

timer such as LM555 (or equivalent). Plus an external
timing capacitor and resistor.

Is the output going to be a data stream identical to the input except delayed by the specified (and I assume variable) time?
