Your 7904 is one helluva 'Scope. I purchased a Tek 2465 a couple of years ago and am very happy with it, but believe me, I was droolling for one of those 7xxx series lab scopes but unfortunatly did not have bench space for it or floor space for a scope cart. Due to their rather large size they are selling relatively cheap on E-Bay, but if one has room for one - what a deal!

Served a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT era? Pray tell, what the heck has changed?

I'm wondering if you're paying attention to the OP?

I'm wondering if you are paying attention, as Deans last post was hours before any mention of of "Capture".

Are you addressing me? Both messages were present when
I replied, and the first mention of a DSO was
Tue Feb 12, 2008 6:53 pm .

As I correctly guessed, the OP has exposure to DSO instruments,
that is their comfort zone, and they have several options to buy
new or used instruments to fill that need.

IMHO, I'd think twice before buying an old analog scope,
even though I prefer that type for my own hobby needs.

But Peter - NoWay for under $200, probably not for under $1000 . Goin Fast's $200 upper limit definately takes him out of the hunt for DSO's

Really? How about this one? There may be others, and a potential used market.
This was the first one Google gave me for "DSO USB Under $200".

Hey.... no more of this back and forth arguing.

And yes, I want an O-scope, not something I have to plug into a computer.

I think I've gotten all the information out of this thread that I can. Thanks everyone!

Choosing a scope

Post by saelig »

Hope this is not too self-serving ... but, as a N&V advertiser, we have tech staff who will give free advice on scope choice (there's a link on our front page at www.saelig.com). We have scopes from $199 to >$3,000.

As a forum user I'm glad to see you here, welcome!

I don't think it's self-serving, in fact you could probably
help this forum by giving us the latest news on products.

Are you one person (or a company account, shared by
multiple users)?
