building a battery charger

Post by sjmrozko »

Hi,

I have an article from the July 1970 issue of Popular Science named "Build a Better Battery Charger". In the article the authors state that by applying high current brief-duration pulses of reverse-polarity potential to "shake loose" the gas molecules that form on the plates during charging. Will this charger bring back a dead battery by desulfating the plates? If so can more current parts be used in the circuit? If interested, I can mail you the article.

Thank you,

John
