Anyone contact Industrial Ventures (IV) from the in-maga

Hi all,
New to the forum, been a subscriber for two years.
I'm interested to find out if any of you have contacted or actually sent money in regards to the advertisement in the Nuts 'n Volts magazine from IV, aka Industrial Ventures.
Their ad is very intriguing but not user friendly at all...if you've seen it you understand what I mean. I am interested in seeing what kits and software they sell/specialize in. I send a hand-writted letter to the address and I recieved a product catalog from a company I've never heard of about a week later. I'm not sure if the two events are mutually exclusive, but honestly I'm not about to send $49.00 to an blind address.
Have any of you had any experience with the kit or ad or anything to kind of lead me in the right direction? I expressed to whomever read my letter that if they had even the most simplest webpage they would have a much wider audience...not even an e-mail address for information.
